This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website at www.xtermicon.com or interact with our services.
This policy is intended to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other applicable California privacy laws. By using our website, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect

- Referral Information: Names and contact details of individuals referred by existing customers, submitted with the referring party's confirmation of consent.
- Usage Data: Browser type, IP address, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs, collected automatically through standard web analytics tools.
- Communications: Any messages or inquiries you send us directly.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and provide requested services
- Send newsletters and promotional communications (with your consent)
- Process and track referrals under our Refer-a-Friend program
- Review career interest submissions
- Improve our website and service offerings
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating our website and business (e.g., database hosting, analytics), subject to confidentiality obligations.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
The business-transfer sharing and the analytics and other vendor sharing described above do not apply to text-messaging opt-in data and consent. Those are shared only as described in Section 11.
5. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
As a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:
- Right to Know: You may request details about the personal information we have collected about you and how it has been used or shared.
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 15 below. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days as required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
7. Cookies, Analytics & Advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use our pages. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended.
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, both managed through Google Tag Manager, to measure site traffic and to show relevant ads to people who have previously visited our website. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, time spent on the site, the website that referred you, your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which is not stored in full), and basic device and browser details. Google Ads uses a remarketing tag to build audiences for advertising across Google Search, YouTube, and the Display Network — including across different devices you use while signed in to a Google account.
We do not sell your personal information. The data collected by these tools is used to improve our services and show you relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ad Settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google processes this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
11. Text Messaging (SMS)
We send text messages only to people who have agreed to receive them. You can agree by checking the text-message box on our quote form. We keep a record of when you agreed and what you agreed to. We do not text a number just because a property manager or association gave it to us.
What we send. Messages about your request or appointment: replies to your quote request, appointment confirmations, schedule changes or cancellations, and reminders. We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and we never put gate or access codes in a text.
How often, and cost. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Stop or get help. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts; reply HELP for help; or call (310) 370-0963 or email hello@xtermicon.com. Opting out of texts does not affect your appointment: we will use email or phone instead.
Your mobile number. We use your agreement to receive texts only to send these messages. We do not share mobile numbers or text-messaging opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share text-messaging opt-in data and consent only with the service providers that store our records and deliver our messages for us - our database, email and text-messaging providers - who may use them only for that purpose. We never sell them.
Records. We keep a record of your agreement, and of any opt-out, for as long as we text you and as long afterwards as the law requires. Consent is not a condition of buying any goods or services or of booking a visit.
12. Email Communications
When you provide your email address through a contact or quote form, we use it for the purposes disclosed at the time of collection — such as responding to your inquiry, providing requested services, scheduling, and sending relevant service updates. We do not sell or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Your email may be shared with service providers that help us manage communications and fulfill requests, only under confidentiality obligations and only to the extent necessary for those services to function. If we send marketing emails, you can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us directly. Even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may still send administrative or service-related messages necessary to fulfill our obligations to you.
13. AI-Assisted Content
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help research, organize, and draft some of the educational content on this Website. All such content is reviewed and edited by our team to reflect our real-world experience and is checked against current California Structural Pest Control Board standards.
While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all information — whether AI-assisted or written solely by humans — is complete or error-free, and nothing on this Website is a substitute for a professional on-site inspection. We encourage you to contact us directly for guidance specific to your situation. We reserve the right to modify or remove content at any time.
14. Booking a Visit for Your Building
When you book a visit for your unit on the page your building was sent, we collect what you enter: your name, your mobile phone number, your email address, your unit number, and the date and time you choose. Our systems also use your IP address to limit repeated or automated requests.
We use these details only to schedule and carry out the visit and to contact you about it. We share them with our own staff and with the property management or association for your building, only as needed for the visit. We do not sell them. Section 4 describes the other limited circumstances in which we may share information.
After you book, we may email you a confirmation of your visit at the email address you entered. It is a message about your visit and nothing else. Our emails about your visit may include a private link that lets you change or cancel it, and we may email you when it is changed or cancelled. Section 12 explains how we use email.
Booking on this page does not sign you up for text messages. Section 11 explains when we text.
